A date?
I have a date with my husband tonight! I am so excited. We are going out. Probably dinner and a movie. I know that might not sound like much but we are both looking forward to it. We always do everything as a family, so this is exciting. Usually we go out together once in August (our anniversary), but this is just because. I can't wait. I am really excited!

How do you spell that?

My husband has wanted one of these dogs for a few years now. I don't know why he won't admit they are ugly. Yes, I know they grow on you. Of course I would love it and probably actually think it is cute. They are called Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican hairless) or Xolo for short.
The problem is they are pretty rare so it isn't easy finding a breeder. Heck, we had a hard time finding a good AKC breeder for Cucui. I e-mailed one place but haven't heard back yet. They make GREAT family dogs. (Great but ugly pets) ha ha Actually I do kinda think they are cute. Amazing I know!

Yesterday I dropped Siobhan off at school and went to work. At lunchtime I left to pick Siobhan up from school and drop her off at home (half day), and went back to work. I got off work, and went home and took Siobhan to sign up for soccer. When I got home I took K to find some track clothes. Finally, I got home for good. Today Eric got up early to take K to school so she could catch her school van to go down to San Diego for a track meet. I took Siobhan to dance this morning and came home and Eric and I took the little one's (B was at a track meet also) to the bookstore to get some books and out for lunch. We all came home and took a nap.
My friend Cheryl always jokes about how much I drive around. I don't think this is anything. When Bradley was in soccer too, that was driving around. We go to soccer in Orange, not far, but not right around the corner either. The thing is, I don't mind driving. When we go to Mexico, I drive. Basically whenever we go anywhere, I drive. We take my car, I drive. I have motion sickness bad, so I prefer to be in the drivers seat, literally.
Tonight is the Invisible Man for Jasso Movie Night. The kids are looking forward to it. It starts at 9 so the kids had to get their naps in (us too!). Hopefully K will be back soon and Eric can go get some snacks for tonight. We always have popcorn too. I think it might be a good night for a fire too, if we have a log.
Tomorrow, the plans are, NOTHING! I LOVE Sundays. I get up whenever, have some coffee. Do laundry (which I enjoy EXCEPT for putting them away) and I will go to the market and make something yummy for dinner. I so enjoy making dinner on Sundays. No rush! It can be something that takes hours and I find it fun. Only on Sundays!

Pasta
Last night Eric and I watched Top Chief for the first time. I have decided that I am going to attempt to make homemade pasta. I mean, if it isn't that hard, why not. We eat lots of pasta and I have read it taste SO much better if you make it yourself. I will be sure to post pictures when I actually try it. I am looking forward to it!
(Eric, if it doesn't taste good, we can always order pizza!)

Vegas
My friends Julie, Natalie and I are going to Vegas for our friend Beth's birthday in April. I haven't been on a girls trip in I don't know how long. Fun! I am not a big fan of Vegas, but as Julie says, anywhere you can walk around outside and get cheap drinks is a place to be. ha ha We are sharing a room and sharing the driving. I am really looking forward to it. We will head out early Saturday morning and enjoy ourselves and go out at night with Beth. We will come home Sunday. I plan to take LOTS of pictures. In this case what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas won't apply, I will have PHOTOS!

Oh yeah

Alright, yesterday I did the unthinkable. I pre-ordered Lost in Blue 3. The store said they should have it March 19th. 10 days! oh yeah. He told me "We will call you the day before to remind you". "Oh, no need I told him!" Please! There is NO way I would forget!
To tide me over I bought a couple of used games to tide me over. They were cheap! I got Trace Memory, which seems okay, and Jewel Match, which I love and kick ass at! My friends at work and I trade games so when I am done, they use it and I borrow somethig of theirs. Of course I won't need to because I will have Lost in Blue 3.
Yesterday Eric told the kids that the DS was like crack to mommy. He said "At least it is cheaper!". No kidding.
My next blog- Sergio from Sprint!

Still not at school
Siobhan missed a full week of school. This is the first time she has missed any school. She can't seem to kick this bug. Fever, then she is fine, then a fever again. grrr. I thought she was fine but now she has another low grade fever.
She says she wants to try soccer. Eric is afraid she is going to quit dance and then find out she hates soccer. Since she is a totally girly girl, he doesn't think she will like the running around and getting sweaty. She wants to try. She even told me she doesn't care if the uniform isn't pink! ha ha
Next year Diego should be able to play. He is going to tear up the field, it is already obvious!
We found out that Nan isn't going to be able to visit us like we thought. We are so sad. It has been almost four years. We miss her so much! We miss you all the time Nan! We could NEVER forget you!
Eric is going to meet a friend from high school tomorrow. That is pretty cool.

Flickr!
Ok, I admit, I often refresh flickr over and over. I comment on people's pictures. It is something I like to do. Today is a first. I refreshed about 4 times and there were NO NEW PICTURES. Finally it refreshed with only one new photo. Unbelievable. I can't believe it. Either something is wrong and Flickr is slow or people out there have stopped. It can't be. I honestly refresh it more often then anything else I do. It is the voyeur in me!

So guess I will be home today
Siobhan has a fever. She felt hot when I picked her up from daycare yesterday. I thought it would just "go away" like it has in the past. But, if you note the time of this post, you will see we were not so lucky. Eric was planning on coming home early but since I am the one who is up now (and has been for about an hour), there is no way I will be able to function tomorrow (today!) at work.
She has a bit of a cough too. I hope Diego doesn't get it. I am going to send him to Eric's mom just to keep him away. Plus she LOVES watching him. We need more medicine. I bought the melt-aways but Siobhan said she would rather have liquid. Ick! What a freaky kid! We need batteries for the remote too. I can't believe I actually figured out how to turn the tv on. I was lucky that the Dish Network and the surround sound were already on, otherwise I would have been lost.
I registered Bradley for his SAT's. I made K's DMV appointment. We finally got her birth certificate. I ordered it December 21st. How is that for a timeline! It came yesterday! (still feels like today). Siobhan is signed up for gymnastics and this weekend we can sign her up for soccer. I can't wait until Diego is old enough. He LOVES soccer. He is going to be good!
I better get back to the Princess. She has been up three times since I have been writing this. Good morning people!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. I forgot. Of course I did. I always forgot my dad's birthday. I don't know why. I was always calling the next day,"Oh I forgot your birthday". Why should now be any different?! Wish I could call him though.
Last week our little Xochitl died in my arms. We got a call about 6:15am, a guy said he found my dog. I left right away. When I got there he had her in his sweatshirt on his seat. Said he found her by the side of the road. She was still alive, but barely. She died about 45 minutes later at home with all of us around her. I don't think she was in pain. We are certain someone took her because she was so far away and Cucui was still here. We are guessing she was hit by a car although she wasn't bleeding or anything. I can't believe she is gone. She was such a GREAT dog! We will really miss her!

We took Siobhan and Diego to LA for the International Children's Film Festival. It was a lot of fun. As you can see, they had fun drinking at the bar. We enjoyed a film starring Mr. Winkle. I knew that dog was real and still sat through the whole thing thinking "There is no way that dog is real". They gave us a Mr. Winkle calendar on our way out too. I put mine up at work!

Birthday Party
We went to a birthday party yesterday for a girl in Siobhan's class. They only live about 2 minutes away. They had SO much food. A big jumper (which they didn't get to enjoy too much because it started raining) and karaoke. Oh man, it was funny. I am really glad because I got to meet three of the mom's. They all seem so nice. I talked to one almost the whole time. It made it nice because we were one of the first one's there and the rest of the people were family or friends. So it gave us someone to hang out with! Siobhan took home the biggest gift bag I have ever seen. These were real bags. She had a lot of fun playing with all the girls. I even let her do her nails. One of the hardest things about a new school is you have to meet all new parents. These are girls she will go to school with for at least the next 8 years, so if I can find a few mom's I like, BONUS!

Filet of..tater sauce
Last night we went to Sprint to sign up for a new plan and get phones. The guy was nice but what a talker. When we finally got out of there, we went to McDonalds to get the filet of fish (Lent!). Got home and I opened mine, there was NO fish in it. Can you believe that? ha ha It actually tasted better that way. I have a free one coming my way next week! Lucky me!

Clean Sheets
Isn't it amazing how clean sheets can make everything so much better. I sleep so much better every time I they are clean. If only I could wash them every three or four days! (Not that they get dirty that fast, they just feel different!)

Beautiful Weekend!
Ah, nice long beautiful weekend! Yesterday (Saturday) Siobhan had dance and then I took her and Diego to the Santa Ana Zoo . It was fun. We rode the train, went through the maze, feed the goats and they made lady bugs out of red rocks! It was fun. The last time we went we signed up for a membership. We often get memberships and don't utilize them. I am bound to use this one. Plus they have a great play area! Siobhan wanted to ride the elephant but I told her she had to wait until Daddy was with us.
Last night Krystal went with her friend out to eat and to the Block for a movie. The rest of us enjoyed some Dairy Queen and watched The Mummy on KDOC TV Endless Classics . Well, Diego fell asleep but the rest of us watched it. Next week is The Mummy's Hand!
Earlier in the day, I woke up from my nap (going to the zoo is hard work, ha ha) and I was looking for Siobhan. She was asleep in her bed. That is so not her. Eric said Diego came out of his room, and he asked Diego "Where is your sister", and Diego told him she was laying down. When she woke up she had a fever. It was 101.4, not too bad, but this kid is never sick. Loaded her with meds and juice, it went down later in the day. She has a little cough but otherwise seems good. There have been kids are her school out for a week or more. Hope she doesn't get whatever that is!
Today I am going to visit my friend Cheryl. She had knee surgery about a week and a half ago. Just going to take her lunch and visit for a bit! I miss seeing her everyday! The younger kids are busy playing outside and the older one's are busy working outside. I am trying to think of something new and fun we can do tomorrow to enjoy the day off. Ah, not only a long weekend but a short work week. Eric is off Friday so he only has to work three days. Lucky dog!
Enjoy the sunshine!

A scare
So my mom was in the hospital for chest pain. She had an angiogram. Turned out she is a big faker. Thank goodness she is fine. She was in the hospital for three days but the turn out was she is great!
Scared me. I told her not to do that again! Really, I can't even begin to describe the feelings I had. Glad it is over and turned out as it did.

Where have YOU been?
Yesterday we had Siobhan's 6th birthday party. It was a lot of fun. We had it at Irvine Park. Great turn out. She got so many presents! Spoiled brat. She got a lot of clothes too, which of course she loves. She is such a girly girl!
Today I took Krystal to Urgent Care. Her asthma has been bugging her. When we got there her Pulse/Ox was 89/90. Okay, I felt bad. I was giving her a hard time about taking her. She is drama! They gave her a breathing treatment which did nothing. They gave her an IV and Prednisone (steroids) which helped a little bit and another breathing treatment. When we left she was up to 95/96. For all of you out there who don't know it should be 100%. 89% is LOW!
They are putting her on two weeks of Prednisone (usually only 5 days). No school tomorrow (she is not to stay home by herself) and no track for TWO weeks! K is so upset. They have their first meet on Friday. She won't be able to run.
She hasn't had an asthma problem in a very long time. I can't even remember the last time. She will be loaded up with stuff now! I know she is going to be a PAIN on these meds. They make her crazy.
Our Urgent Care visit went well. I haven't used it before at this location because we are always able to get an appointment. We waited only about 2 minutes before being called in. This is not uncommon with asthma. They usually get you pretty fast and people always look at you because you seem fine and they have been waiting. It was about 20 minutes before the Dr. came in. Nice place though, we got good attention and they seem to get most people in and out pretty quickly. (I know because we were there for about 4 hours). I think they let us go because they were closing soon, ha ha.
Oh, over all it was a very good weekend. Andrea, I wish I could have given you our visit history instead of your own.

Movie Night at the Jasso's
Last night the Jasso's big and small gathered around the TV to watch a movie. There was a fire glowing in the fireplace, popcorn all around and the lights turned off. The event? Creature of the Black Lagoon.
I hadn't seen it before. Diego was laying on the floor with Bradley and fell asleep before it finished (it started at 9). Siobhan watched the whole thing. When the Creature first showed his hand, Diego's eyes were open wide.
Today, they both say they liked it. Diego said "why did you put me to sleep I wanted to watch it". He doesn't get that he was already asleep. Next week, Return of the Creature of the Black Lagoon.
As a side note, there was a Twilight Zone on afterwards that I had never seen. (Thought I had seen them all). Buster Keaton. It started out as a slient movie until he used a time machine to the 1960's. Good one!

Eric and I have always enjoyed Indian music. This guy is a serious singer, but he did this song for fun. Listen to it, it will get stuck in your head! The video is pretty funny too!

No more vacation
Back to work today. Ahh, nice being back to work. Everyone misses you. Wonders where you were, what you were doing.
Tomorrow my boss and I are driving to Ventura (90 miles EACH way) for a meeting. OH MY GOSH! I can't believe some people drive that each day. We are meeting at 7am at Starbucks and hopefully will make it there by 9:30. My work has an office there so we are hoping to stop and visit them as well. I have never been to that office, hoping to not go again anytime soon either. ha ha
We finally decided where to have Siobhan's birthday party. She turns 6 on the 31st. Everyday she wants to know if we can go get the stuff for the party bags. Geez, we have almost two weeks! I am trying to get a count here! You can't just go buying bags if you don't know how many kids are coming. She invited all the girls in her class. Sounds like a lot but it was only nine.
Diego is finally getting this potty thing. I know Andrea, I know. He has been going poop on the potty for almost forever, but pee, who cares. He lets it flow. It is our fault too. We have been using pull ups, nothing to make him go. I think it is because he is our baby. What is the rush! I think we are over the "he is our baby thing". ha ha He has been doing well.
Eric is off this week to stay with Diego. His mom (his usually watcher) finds out on Friday when she gets out of rehab. Until then, we will continue taking turns.
Siobhan is watching Happy Days. She likes that and Brady Bunch. Innocent shows. You gotta love that!

Today, um, not so much
The last two days have been so beautiful. The kids have spent the whole day outside playing. Finally our HUGE backyard being put to use. The older kids earning a little extra cash working the backyard. Today, cloudy and rainy. It wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't a holiday. Ah, I will be thankful for what we had.
Watching the football game yesterday where is was really cold made me really thankful. We have a fire right now, ahh nice.

I am ON vacation
So, I am on vacation this week and where did I end up? WORK! ha ha am I dedicated or what? I scheduled something this week so I had to go in, I didn't mind. I LOVE my job. I kept telling everyone "I am not here I am on vacation!" ha ha
It has been wonderful being able to pick Siobhan up from school. I wish I had some sort of adjusted schedule where I could do it everyday. It has been really cool being with Diego everyday too. I think we are closer because of it.
Siobhan told me she had a headache at school today. She said "Do you think it was my brain actually?" She is too much!
She is running a temp though, she NEVER gets sick! She's been coughing too, I think she might have a bit what I STILL have!
Oh, I think I will post the books I just finished reading!

Playing "stay at home mom"
I am off this week, well mostly because Eric's mom is still in rehab. She usually watches Diego. Krystal has been watching him the last week but she is back to school today. Eric will take off next week. After that, we will see but will share the load.
I have to go in on Wednesday for a video conference with one of our other sites. It is also one of my staff's birthday's so Eric will stay home and I will just go in the whole day. Today Diego and I dropped the girls off at school and went out for breakfast. Then we went to the market and are back home watching Toy Story. I love to hear him laugh. He quotes the dang movie all of the time.
Our dryer went out. Why! I went to Sears on Saturday. They have a mail in rebate that is effective on Sunday for free delivery. Okay, I will come back on Sunday. I went in Sunday. The only person who was working that department mother had died and there was no one there until the afternoon. I came home and told Eric that maybe our dryer was going to start working again. (I tried it, no such luck!) I am going to Howard's today. I like them better anyway and they don't charge you $10 to haul away your old one.
I haven't been online too much. Eric got me the newest Sims expansion pack and I am still hanging on to whatever illness this is that I have. I think I might actually take a nap today. Playing at stay at home mom is better than actually staying at home because I am almost positive that no stay at home mom actually gets a nap!

Eh? Speak up? I can't hear you!
I swear it feels like there is a sock in my right ear. My throat feels a bit (just a tiny bit) better, but my head and my eye. ow! Diego started coughing and has a runny nose. Wonderful. The medicine I gave him seemed to help his cough a lot.
We went to Bradley's soccer game today and it was freaking cold! We left the house about 2 and it was not so cold. We went and got Diego's haircut and headed to the game. We got there about 3:15 and man, the wind was blowing and it was cold. I am not usually cold and I was COLD! I wished I had brought a blanket instead of just a sweatshirt.
Siobhan was complaining she had to go potty. K could not find one open. I kept telling Siobhan she could go like they do in the woods but she wouldn't have any of that! ha ha I tried and tried to talk her into it, but eventually we found an open restroom at the school.
It is supposed to storm. So far it is raining, sort of. Based on the news, Storm-watch 08, you would think it is going to rain for 40 days and 40 nights. We will see. We will see.

Someone SHUT the door!
Someone let a bug in. A big bug. A virus kind of bug! I am S I C K! Grrr. Came on New Year's. Eric and I took S and D to lunch and I said "my throat kinda hurts". Eric said it is probably because of all the winds, makes sense. I have asthma so the Santa Ana's effect you in all sorts of ways. So, I figured he was right.
I couldn't sleep that night. My throat HURT! I tried spray. ffftt, that sore throat bounced that spray right off. "ha ha you will do NOTHING to help here spray. In pain she must be!".
Yesterday I went and loaded up on dayquil and nyquil (my tried and true favorite) gel-caps. I took a daytime on as soon as I got home, drank a lot of Gatorade and relaxed. I felt among the living. Took nyquil last night, and still couldn't sleep. At first I couldn't sleep because Eric was laughing at all the noises I was making. (nice babe!). I woke up thinking "what IS that noise", only to find it was me! We laughed at that one! I kept waking up. Eric was waking me up, "Turn over". I can't even blame him. I finally went to the couch to watch a little tv.
This morning, ouch! I think Eric is right, it has something to do with sinus'. I feel pretty much okay otherwise (except tired!). I did not want to get up this morning (really closer to afternoon). I am armed now with a hot shower and some more dayquil. I think I am going to go get a coffee from this wonderful new coffee shop right by us. THAT will make me feel better! ha ha
Keep healthy out there people. Oh and for you So Cal people, they say it is going to ACTUALLY rain. Real rain, not the stuff we usually call rain. Be CAREFUL! (It probably won't even rain, they are never right!).

Blog? wha? oh yeah
Okay, based on my lack of blogging and a few of my fellow bloggers lack of blogging, I think we are having the "Holiday let down's". Your still so tired and your mind is finally starting to mellow from all of the hustle and bustle. But here I am!
Carol is still in rehab center. Getting better everyday with her new knee. Hopefully she will come home next week.
I am off all week this week. Hoping to go visit my brother while I am off.
Last night Eric said he wanted to go to Mexico this week since the kids are off. Our favorite hotel closes for repairs for the next two weeks. I am trying to think of somewhere else we can go. Drive to San Francisco? Somewhere closer? I still have never been to that little "Holland" city. (Can't remember the name of it right now).
I am off to pick up K from track practice (YES on New Year's Eve) and then we are heading to Costco (with my gift card from my mom! WOO HOO)
Tonight, handing out. Playing the Wii, with the iTouch, DS. Good times. I gotta pick up some fire logs!
Happy New Year!

Last song
Okay this is the last and probably the song that hits home the most when I think of my dad. I have been waiting to post because it is kinda hard to share these things but I have to get past them sometime.
Of course, seeing that it is almost Christmas, my emotions are pretty high anyway.
Here are some of the lyrics that really describe the pain I feel, not to mention the way he sounds as he sings them.
If I lay here, If I just lay here. Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know how to say how I feel
Those three words (for me it is I miss you) Are said too much They're not enough
I need your grace to remind me to find my own
I don't know where, confused about how as well, just know that these things will never change for us at all
I hope that song writers out there know that sometimes how they intended the song, is not how it is received. I don't know what I would have done without music to help me get through this seemingly impossible time.

Who has time for a post anymore? This weekend was jam-packed.
Eric’s mom had knee replacement surgery on Friday. We spent our day at the hospital. She is doing well. She is getting ready to be moved to a rehabilitation facility. Did you know that you have 13 days after knee replacement to get the knee used to moving?
Saturday we went to visit Carol (Eric’s mom) in the hospital for a bit. Then we went to Siobhan’s dance rehearsal. Poor Eric and Diego were stuck in the car for an hour and a half! When she was done, we went out to eat, then back to the hospital.
Sunday was Siobhan’s dance! I dropped her and Krystal off about 12:45. My mom and I went to buy Siobhan some flowers. Her performance was at 2pm. She was brilliant (of course!). Eric took Diego to see his mom and K, B and I stayed to help. The Nut Cracker was at 4:30. We helped backstage until about 6:15. Man were we all tired (except for Bradley who got to sit down the whole time).
I took the kids out to dinner and then we headed home. Krystal and I ordered the same dinner but only one of us was up in the middle of the night throwing up. Lucky for me, it was her. Sorry Krystal! Ha ha
Today we will, of course, go visit Carol again. I am supposed to bake cookies for a cookie exchange at work with my staff. I told them I would probably have to pick them up. I am also supposed to pick up my boss’ gift. Ah, where does all the time go?

We are ready to head out to Siobhan's school performance. She looks beautiful (of course). Maybe I will have video or pictures later.

Dr. Dr. give me the news
I went to the doctor yesterday. I have been feeling dizzy the last couple days and it got bad enough that I vomited. So off I went. Lost a few pounds (could stay to lose like a million more) and blood pressure is great. She tested me for Vertigo, nope not that. Probably something viral she said. Take some medicine she said. It should go away in about 2 weeks she said. TWO WEEKS! She said she could give me some medicine so I won't throw up. Nah, not necessary plus I don't really like to take medicine. I am just kinda bummed there wasn't anything concretely wrong.
She said move slowly (already figured THAT one out), take it easy, rest! Let your blood pressure catch up with you. Well, that is nice. $15 co-pay for what? To find out there is nothing wrong with me. I swear that is why I never go to the doctor. Even when you think you need to, nope!
Oh well, at least I got a refill on my Qvar (for asthma). That is something, right?!

Practically home alone
Eric, Krystal and Bradley have gone to a UCLA basketball game. I am home with the little one's which is much like being home alone. They are eating at their desks and watching The Little Mermaid. Bliss. I could do whatever I wanted for an hour and a half. Ha ha not to say I couldn't normally, but somehow it is different.
We still need to get our Christmas tree. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. I have gifts that need to go somewhere!

Santa is a bit prejudice
I was watching Rudolph and have you ever really payed attention? Santa told Rudolph and his dad that Rudolph can't fly with him because his nose glows. The Coach told everyone not to let Rudolph play and Reindeer games because of his nose. I mean, what is that about? Someone is a little different and WHAM, suddenly you are not welcome. I know that is what the whole story is, but I never really paid attention to that before. You think SANTA would know better. Frankly no one cared until they needed something. Nice!
Well, Bradley's room in half clean. I swear, I would like to move in some big a*s vacuum and suck everything in there. I don't care if he needs it.
I think I have a spider bite on my eye lid. (I HATE spiders). It is swollen but not as bad as this morning. I think I might not die.

no time to blog
If anyone wonders where I am, I am in Bradley's room watching him clean it. Nice! Real nice. I would rather be here, believe me!

You are a cohesive force - able to bring many people together for a common cause. You tend to excel in work situations, but you also facilitate a lot of social gatherings too. Beyond being a good leader, you are good at inspiring others. You also keep your powerful emotions in check - you know when to emote and when to repress. Your strength: Emotional maturity beyond your years Your weakness: Wearing yourself down with too many responsibilities Your power color: Crimson red Your power symbol: Snowflake Your power month: September |
Christmas lights? Check!
Yep, they are up! We only had to buy seven replacement bulbs. We use those big boy lights. You know the one's that are BIG bulbs. None of those small little icicle lights for us. Pffttt, who has even seen icicles in Southern California anyway. ha ha
Siobhan and I were coming home from her dance class this morning and I said, "Siobhan look how beautiful the sky is, you can see the mountains, the sky is actually blue and there are beautiful white clouds in the sky". She said " I want to go to the beach". ha ha Where was her head? I was at the mountains and she was at the beach.
Kids are playing a new game we got tonight for the Wii called Playground. Pretty cute. Siobhan likes it, Diego likes Wii Carnival better. We have a fire and it is a great weekend!

What is that?
I am so confused. It is wet on the ground. I am pretty sure I didn't leave the sprinklers on all night. Wait, it is wet on the street too. Did some crash into a fire hydrant? Did a really big dog go pee. My car appears wet as well. This is very, very odd. I am definitely going to have to Google this. This is really weird!

Oh my gosh!
Wow!
After hours trading, Apple stock was $185.62. I guess everyone BUT Andrea is buying an iPod! Better join now Andrea. Pretty soon you will be an outcast!

Okay ladies
Tomorrow is it. A post today and a post tomorrow and fini! Wow. I don't know about the two of you but it hasn't been as hard as I thought. I think honestly the hardest part for me was thinking at random times, "Did I post?", "Oh my gosh, I have to post". ha ha
Still feeling a bit sick. Body feels sluggish. I am still wheezing (going through inhalers like crazy!)
Diego has been walking around with one hand in his pocket. I think it is adorable. It bothers Eric but I think it is cute. He looks like a big boy!
Bradley is playing varsity soccer. I wish he would grow up though, he still acts like a little kid. Fighting with Siobhan and Diego like he is still 10 instead of 17. Siblings, maybe they never grow up.
Gotta get to dropping four kids off at three different places now. Good times!

Back to work
I went back to work today. Ahh, I feel better. Of course now my stomach is a little tender. I don't know why.
Siobhan has her school Christmas play and her dance performance coming up. Thank goodness none of the other one's have too many things going on.
Short post. I still have to go to the pet store and then off to Siobhan's school.

A few photos
I am sitting here thinking "what to write". I thought I would post a few photos. Siobhan is singing "God loves me" so I have beauitful background music.
This is a photo taken in front of Notre Dame of Krystal and Bradley. Those birds HATED me and would not come to me no matter how much food I held out for them. Obviously a while ago. When we found out I was pregnant we thought we better take them to Europe while we still could.

Siobhan showing her art work for her Daddy's present. We are still not sure how she is getting a B in Art when it seems to be all she does.
Krystal and Diego at a party last year. Gosh they get big so fast.
Siobhan playing GH3 on the Wii. Could she be any cuter?

Song two
I am not even sure if I would normally like this song, but this one still hurts to listen to. Even the name, Breath. That is how I felt, "cradle your head in your hands, and breath just breath". It was all I could do. If I could do that, then the next one would follow. "Life is like an hour glass glued to the table". "No one can find the rewind button".
The pain is still so strong, sometimes it still takes over everything I am. Sometimes I feel like it almost defines who I am.

Lazy Day
Woke up to Krystal telling me my mom called and she is coming over. Great! We had to get up. Okay, it was 11 but a cold or something hit yesterday and I was sneezing and wheezing and feeling like crap. Siobhan and I watched I Love Lucy at 2:30am. I watched a couple of movies today.
Krystal took Siobhan to The Block. They actually took the bus (it is down one street and about 10 minutes), I picked them up. We had McDonald's for dinner. No, wait you don't understand. We NEVER have fast food. Never! It was yummy. Of course 3 of the 4 kids complained of hurting belly's shortly afterwards, but they are fine. Yum Yum McDonald's.
I can't believe it is back to work tomorrow. Ah, it is so nice to be off, even if the Christmas lights don't get put up like I REALLY wanted. Sigh, you can't have everything!

Song one
There are three songs that really meant a lot to me when my dad passed away. I was going to post some of the lyrics, or just all of them but I thought it wouldn't do them justice. So I have decided to post the video's so that you can hear them.
The first one, you have certainly heard before. Wake me up when September ends. I heard this for the very first time about two days after my father died. My dad passed away on September 20, 2005. (The song's release date that I found was September 27, 2005).
Listen to it again and just think of how much it made sense to me. The title alone says it all. I know it isn't what they intended, but that is the thing about songs. They mean something different to everyone.

Black Friday
Well, I didn't get up at 5am. It was more like 7am when I woke up on my own. As I was laying there, I thought "What the hell you are already awake. There ARE door buster prices". So off K and I went.
We went to Toys R Us, where it took us a bit of time to find a parking space. In we went. Oh my GOSH! There were people everywhere! The line was around the store! I actually got very little. One, because the sales were not that good. Two, I couldn't go down the row I really wanted to because there was another line down it. Now, if this had been the checkout line, no big deal. I could shop while I was waiting to check out but it was the line to check out in electronics (I was informed about 10 minutes after waiting in line, bitter). So, I didn't even get to look at what I wanted to get in the first place.
The checkout line, although VERY long went quickly. They were very organized and had staff everywhere to help with anything. I was standing around looking for Krystal and employee asked me if I needed anything. WOW! That never happens. Anyway, I spent less than $20.00. The items I got that I was so excited about weren't even on sale. They were a bargain 74 cents.
Since we didn't find any bargains there we went to Target across the street. The store was much less crowded and the line, wasn't one! I got a couple things, Krsytal got almost all her shopping done.
My opinion, stay home unless there is something you saw advertised that you really want that is a REAL bargain. Black Friday shopping, overrated!

Should I or shouldn't I?
Trying to decide if I should tempt fate and get up and go shopping at 5am tomorrow. On one hand I think it would be fun, on the other, hmm a crowd. Eric said they are supposed to have better deals later. I have never gone shopping the day after Thanksgiving before. Krystal wants to go too. I could be back in bed before the little one's even get up.
Hmmmm
Hmmmm

Momma needs a new pair of shoes
I need new shoes. My feet hurt. When I was training for my (half) marathon, Eric said we have to get you a good pair of shoes. We went to the shoe store that specializes in running and they had me walk barefoot over this thing hooked up to the computer. It basically tells you what kind of support you need. They found three shoes that should be perfect for me. I tried one on, hmm nice. Then the other, feels funny. Then the last one, "Oh my God Eric, I feel like I am walking on a cloud". No kidding! This is it, I will take these. Eric takes them to pay and they are $109.00. Huh? Um. Well.
So I figured, okay over a hundred for running shoes, yeah it is a lot. But I AM doing a marathon (at that time I didn't know it would be a half). So I put them on and head out for our first training. Oh man. Everything hurt BUT my feet. I kept those shoes for months and put many miles on them. I bought another pair about a month before the event. I did not mind at all. At that point I was walking about 4 miles everyday after work and about 10 on Saturdays.
Now, hmm, only going around the neighborhood. I can't justify that much money for that. I know part of it is because I am so overweight. Part of me thinks, if you are in pain, you won't do this. Can't there be a nice middle somewhere. A good pair for $50. We are not cheap in this house when it comes to shoes. No Payless or no name brands here. We want quality.
Oh, I don't know. No matter what it will have to wait until after Christmas. Four freaking kids! ha ha
Dear Santa, I would really like a brand new all paid for Range Rover. I can buy my own shoes!
Love and kisses,
Diane
haha I am sending it out NOW!

A little about myself
I really like to cook on Sunday, the other six days, not so much.
I love to read. Favorite food- probably pizza, favorite drink- Dr. Pepper, favorite snack- popcorn
I like 3 musketeers candy bars and when I have one, I eat all the chocolate off first.
I am not a big fan of chocolate. I don't really like pie.
I love veggies and fruit. Really, almost all of them!
I love my teenagers but wonder what it will be like when they move out.
The little one's, I wish they would stop growing up.
I am very literal, it drives Eric nuts. I am sarcastic (got it from my dad)
I love music. I think people who do not have to have music around them have something wrong with them.
I have a few friends who I would do anything for and I would ask anything of them in return.
I miss my dad every single minute. I still cry randomly.
I can shower and be dressed in about 5 minutes (includes washing and conditioning my hair)
I do not like to plan things, I would rather go along for the ride.
I am really bad with money. I try, but still...
I want to write a book someday (doesn't everyone), I am pretty sure I would be good at it too.
I actually like fast food. I try not to eat but I like it
I like steak. I hate fish.
A few years ago I would never try anything new, now I will take a taste.
I have a friend I see most days and wished we were closer.
Okay, enough already, who cares. ha ha but I got a blog in!

But you just ate 4-6 hours ago

This is the game I am playing. I am so into that game. I have abandoned my family for that game. In the walk through, they say about the 9th (or something) day move your people into the tree-house. WHAT! I have put HOURS into this game. I just moved into the tree-house. I am on day 73! It is kinda like the Sims which is probably why I like it so much. I will get in whatever time I can. Kids are napping, game time. Nothing on tv, game time. One hour until Amazing Race, game time! Eric said, I am tired of seeing you play that game, yeah yeah, I am TRYING to help these people eat here. ha ha I can devote SERIOUS time to a game if I REALLY like it!
If you have a DS and have time to play and don't have children that require breakfast, lunch AND dinner, get this game. It is fun. Someone at my work bought it and she is hooked.
Why am I blogging? I could be playing my game!

Soccer
The Jasso's are the proud (super super super partial) owners of a soccer team. We have a share in this futbol team located in Kent England. I can't wait to go to a game!

For some reason it won't save to my desktop. This was sent to me by my husband. One of his Flickr! contacts took his picture. Believe me, well worth the click. Oh yes! WELL worth it!

Happy Birthday Bradley
My son is 17 today! Do you know how old this makes me. 17? Oh my gosh, where has the time gone? How have they gotten older but I stayed the same? Aren't I still 28?

Thursday or hell day?
What a morning. I would say a morning from hell but I guess it wasn’t quite THAT bad. I didn’t feel so hot this morning so I didn’t get my walk in this morning. I didn’t feel sick so much as exhausted. You know when you laying there and your body feels like dead weight? That was me.
I had Krystal put laundry in yesterday when she got home from school. Come to find out this morning she never put it in the dryer. Um, my work pants are in there. So, luckily they are of a thinner material and dry pretty quickly. I am getting really tired of things like this. She is supposed to be an adult. She actually wants to get a job, but she is home about three hours alone and can’t manage one load of laundry? Come on! Lazy! Needless to say she will be doing some housework tonight!
In addition to yesterday’s blog, Eric doesn’t want turkey, not a big surprise there. He said to get a Honey Baked Ham (he actually said, that really good ham, but I know what he mans) and tamales. Whatever. I can make baked potatoes and maybe I might try and bake a pie, maybe not. What I do know is the kids are going to find (or we will buy yet another set) of lights and put them up the day after. I am going to decorate some for Christmas this year! I am! Really! I mean it!

Crazy Morning
What is going on this morning? Things are crazy. The kids are acting like they had a bunch of sugar or something. The cat threw up. I think my dog is throwing up right now (outside). Weird.
So Thanksgiving is coming up. I was trying to talk Eric into going to Mexico. The hotel we stay at has a special for 3 nights and it includes Thanksgiving dinner for four. We haven't been there for an extended time in a while. I guess it isn't going to work out. I thought we might go to my mom's for dinner (she is ALWAYS ready to cook for us) but Bradley has a soccer game. Eric and I aren't big on the dinner thing but I think if we are going to be home I will give it a go. I HAVE cooked a turkey before. I think the best Thanksgiving I had since we have been together was the year we took my Land Rover to the park to go off roading. That was a lot of fun! (We took the dogs too, but Cucui got car sick with all that bumping around).
So, I have only decided as I was writing this that I would actually make a Thanksgiving dinner. I know Eric will say it is too much work. It will probably take a few extra hours with our P.O.S oven, but alas I shall attempt it. WIsh me luck people (better yet wish us ALL luck!)

Maybe, just maybe it will be okay
Maybe this getting up early and walking thing will be okay. Here it is 7am, I am usually just getting up, and I have walked and showered already. I am ready to go to work minus the shoes. It gives me a lot more time to get Siobhan ready. She requires light direction in the morning, otherwise her feelings get hurt and the tears come. And lookie here it gives me time to blog first thing too.
On thing about this blogging once a day is I don't have much time to read everyone else's blogs. I don't spend nearly as much time on the internet as I used to. And if one my favorite people posted a long blog, I have to come back to it. I could read them while I am at work but I don't want to be one of those people who does a lot of non work things during work.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I will be home early today where I plan to read about Julie's dogs and laugh again and Felicity's picture of food all over her face!

Fresh and Easy
Okay people, especially you Andrea, there is a new market out there. It is called Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market. It is similar to the markets they have in Europe (Tesco). There are not a lot of them yet. The closest one to us was very west Anaheim (almost Garden Grove).
Okay, here is my review of Fresh and Easy. First off, they have family parking right in front! I think there were four or five spaces for families. I love that idea. I love that Ikea had it and I loved it here. (I ALWAYS have at least one kid with me, usually three or four). It was larger than I thought but still on the smaller side, like a Trader Joes. The first isle is fresh flowers and fruit on one side and veggies on the other. Here is where is differs some. The fruit and veggies are already packaged for the most part. So, it isn't per pound (except for bananas). You get 2 pomegranates for whatever price. You get a bag of oranges and a bag of apples, but NOT like the bags at Albertsons or Ralph's. These are not plastic bags where some of the fruit is bad. Everything looked great.
They have a couple of isles that are prepared food. I will use Albertsons as my comparision for the most part because that is where I shop (I received another hand written thank you letter from the manager just yesterday). The prepared food is fresh (only good for a couple of days) and good food. We got a few for dinner that night, all for the microwave. I got the chicken fajitas (it came with salsa, sour cream, FOUR flour tortillas and chicken, grilled onions and bell peppers. Bradley and the little one's got chicken enchiladas'. Siobhan and Diego shared one, it had two chicken enchiladas (slightly spicy but yummy!) rice and beans. Bradley did finish his. Eric had spaghetti and meatballs. Krystal got California rolls. The meals were about $3.99-4.99 each. Not a bad deal. For a family of six, maybe not for everyday but NO more expensive than fast food really. One thing I really liked was they had a little package of carrots, juice, (now my mind has gone but it had only good for you stuff in a little package you could send as your child's or your lunch).
Eric got some ham that we have not been able to find in the US. Every thinly sliced different types of ham. They had so many cheeses that all I could think of was Europe. They have fresh breads (we went on Friday and they were dated to be eaten by Monday). They even had the small corn tortillas (I never see those anywhere). They have their own brands of many things and had people giving out tastes of different items. The isles are big enough and the store is bright. Everyone who worked there was very friendly ( of course it was only the second day). They weren't just "healthy" food. They had some frozen stuff you would find at Albertson's as well as vitamins and baby items.
Okay, I guess the thing I would be asking, what about the prices? The cereal was a bit more then when it is on sale at Albertson's. Just about everything else was cheaper. Considerable cheaper. I would highly recommend at least checking it out if there is one anywhere around you. It is worth the drive. I wish we had one real close, I would go very often. I would love to buy stuff every few days, I am at the store anyway.
If you do go, please let me know what you think!

Okay I KNOW it is a bad picture ( my cell phone stinks with photos) but this is a car on fire at our neighborhood Albertson's. It seemingly took the Fire Department some time to get there. It was so long I actually called 911 to report it. Of course, someone already had. There were Paramedics parked close by but they didn't do anything until after a few (long) minutes, they brought out a fire extinguisher.
Some guy (guessing the owner) was opening the door of the car to get something and swoosh, the fire really took over. There were people all over the place. Crazy! No one was hurt thank goodness!

At home watching Ghandi with the family. This is the first time I have seen the movie. Why did I wait so long? It is amazing.

ER time
Today I took my mother-in-law to the ER (she is okay!) Everyone knows it takes forever whenever you go to the ER. I have a theory on that now. We got there pretty early so there weren't any other people waiting. They took her back fairly quickly, found out what was going on and took her to a room. All of this in about 30 minutes. Good timing.
A nurse came right in to find out the problem, a doctor followed soon after. They took the specimens they needed, then the wait began. Don't get me wrong, I realized tests take time. I have NO problem with that. THAT I understand. They decided to do an ultrasound and did that in a reasonable amount of time. Wait. Wait. Diego and I went to visit my mom who works at that hospital. We walked around a bit. She was still waiting. Wait. Diego went to the bathroom about three times, still waiting.
Finally someone comes back says "blah blah blah is wrong with you" "Do this and this" Great! Doctor says "here take this medicine". Super I think, we are OUT of here! Doctor says " I just need to get your Rx". Wonderful! After about 10 minutes, we agree that I will just take Diego to the car where he will enjoy listening to the Toy Story Disney Storyette on my iPod (yes, Andrea, iPOD!) So we head down, it is slow going because Diego really enjoys stairs!
I call Eric "Your mom is fine, Just waiting should be any minute" Yeah, any minute 30 minutes later. Seems they wanted to make sure she didn't react to the meds they gave her. Again no problem with that, but why not SAY SOMETHING. How about "We still get to get your Rx but we want to make sure you don't have a reaction to the medicine we just gave you so it will be about 30 minutes". Would that be too much to ask?
All in all we were there about four hours. Not really too bad. Only one trip to the gift shop (Diego couldn't understand why he couldn't actually get a gift for someone, yeah right at those prices!". One bag of trail mix, Diego was GREAT! Seriously Great!
So, my thought as I was waiting in the car. They make sure you aren't going to die and they make you wait. Do you want to know why? To discourage you from coming back. That is why! I am sure of it. They probably teach that in medical school, otherwise everyone would show up at the ER. How many times have you thought "Oh, if I go I am going to have to wait forever!". It doesn't take forever, get them in and get them out. How difficult is that!
It is a conspiracy, I am sure of that!

Are cell phone dangerous?
I was coming home from work the other night and I saw a girl walking down the street talking on her cell phone. She was so busy talking that she wasn't paying attention to anything else. What if she is walking down a street and someone is following her? She wouldn't even notice. Think about most people you see who are on the phone. They pay little attention to anything else. At the store I saw this lady on her phone pay for her food and start walking off leaving her wallet behind. I mean, come on people. I just don't get it. Do we have more to talk about? Do we need immediate gratification all of the time? Would it hurt to say "Hey, can I call you back in a bit, I am (fill it in) at the doctor, going through a drive through, in the store, AT DINNER!
Oh well, be safe out there people!

Oh yeah
Not only did I FINALLY get to enjoy my jacuzzi tub last night. My car was fixed today and cost a hundred bucks less then we thought. Oh yeah! So excited.
I almost missed Heros last night because I didn't want to get out of the tub. Man, that thing uses A LOT of water. I think I am going to have to limit baths to the weekend. I will have to start filling it up 15 minutes before I want to get it. But, oh it felt SO good!
I love my husband for making sure I got one. He kept saying "go pick a tub", but I put it off for years. Ahhhhh

Hang on, literally
I took my car in today because the seat belt doesn't work. The seat belt. These things only happen to me. Everything else works fine. My car hit a 100,000 miles and runs great and the dang seat belt doesn't work. It won't pull out or go in. What, seriously, is that about?! Grrr.
Hopefully it will be done tomorrow. I have the BEST mechanic ever! If you need one, let me know!

Turn your clocks back
If we got an extra hour, then why am I so freaking tired?!
We woke up earlier than usual for a Sunday but it wasn't THAT early. (Andrea I am so sorry, I know you are up at all hours!) I dropped K and her grandma off at the mall and Siobhan and I made a run to Lowe's for something else for the tub. Eric went to Home Depot for something else (this is his fourth trip I think!)
We have a LA Galaxy game today. It is a fundraiser for the people who were effected by the fires. There will be a lot of stars there. Again, hopefully Beckham will take off his shirt. (He is HOT!)
I just might get to take a bath tonight. Ahh, I think we have been without a tub for about a year and a half. Except for the two little one's I am the only one who really takes a bath. I LOVE a hot bath. Now I will have a hot jacuzzi bath! Oh yes, with my candles and wine cooler and a good book. What could be better? I might even post a picture.
I guess there is probably no time for a nap either! Dang it!

New links
Hey I messed around with my links. I added a couple. I added Julie's and my oldest son, Bradley. I don't know how often Bradley will actually update but he says he is going to keep it up!
Julie is a fellow mom trying to muddle through life. Gosh, we all need a vacation!
Andrea, Julie-let's go! Hey Mackey, Drama Mama, Melissa and Diet Coke Queen-want to join us?!

I am committed, well sort of, maybe, I guess
Okay I am putting it on paper (so to speak!) I am going to get my lazy fat ass (along with the rest of me) and get up at 6am starting Monday and go for a walk before work. I will walk everyday that I go to work (except if it is raining or I am ill of course). That should still give me time to shower, and get the brats off to where they all need to go!
I have been saying I am going to do it for a while. I thought since the time is changing it is the perfect opportunity to make this change. Besides, the morning is the only time it doesn't interfere with anything and everything else I might have to do.
So there it is. I am committed. It is in writing. I have told everyone. (I am convincing myself here!, I LOVE to sleep!)

Oh yes, may I help you?
Thursday I dropped Siobhan off at school and I swear I could barely see out of my windshield. I pulled into the only gas station between Siobhan's school and Krystal's school. There was a guy standing there (right in the way). I pulled up and left the car on. K jumped out to clean the windshield. He said "Can I help you?" She said "No, I am just going to clean the windshield". He said "I will do, I am not doing anything else.". He cleaned the windshield 100 times better than Krystal would have. He offered us a free calendar. No thanks. "Would you like coffee? It's free!". Again, I said "No thanks".
That was it. He said "Have a nice day" and off we went. He didn't ask for a tip. He didn't think we were buying gas. I didn't think you could do that anymore. I can't actually remember which gas station it was. I know it wasn't Cheveron because that is the gas we use.
Remember full service gas stations? Kinda reminds me of that!

Let the games begin
Okay, ladies, are you ready? I have plenty of things to at least post in case my brain stops working. Think about it, photos (small caption extra bonus?), blog about someone else's blog, write a review. There are endless things to blog about.
The day after Halloween, the kids aren't so eager to get up. Lazy they are. Of course we were so busy yesterday that it wasn't until very late I realized that Siobhan's pe uniform needed to be washed. She is out of drinks for lunch. I was supposed to prepare a crock-pot for tonight's dinner (something I am trying, be prepared, obviously NOT working!) where did the night go?
Can you imagine how much more difficult it would have been if the time had changed already?
Day one, completed BEFORE work. Oh yeah, I rock!
