Understanding Catholics

I was thinking of something as I was driving home. There are a lot of people who support Bush just because he is against abortion. People who do not think that it is right to kill a person. Those same people who do not believe in abortion, supporting Bush, are supporting the war.

Supporting the KILLING of people. So is it okay to kill SOME people? It is only okay to kill people who are already born? Kids and adults?

Shouldn't all killing be wrong? Shouldn't the amount of killing matter too?

I am not saying that an abortion is okay. I am saying No killing is okay". It is not okay to kill an unborn baby. It is not okay to kill children. It is not okay to kill adults.

Killing is not okay. Yet there are people supporting the President because they don't want abortions, but they are supporting the killing going on both to others and our soldiers. Just something to think about.

yes, supporting a president that put more people to death, some which are now presumed to have been INNOCENT and some with mental retardation, while governor of Texas. what a hypocrite.

It is not okay to kill people, born or unborn I agree. It is also not okay to sit back and let your country be attacked without protecting it which is what Bush did. People who are in the army sign up for this. They KNOW this might be what it comes to. An unborn child DOES NOT "sign up for this". And Kerry thinks it's okay to abort even at 6 or 8 months. That is murder and it disgusts me. And as far as being a good Catholic? Did you hear the speech where he said that his "religion" is a very important part of his life and then tried to back it by using John 3:16 and said that his favorite scripture is John 16:3. (Which would make no sense at all by the way.) This man gives Catholics a bad name.

Ok...If I hear ONE MORE IDIOT say that Bush is "protecting out country" I'M GOING TO HURL! SHIT PEOPLE...Iraq is NOT Al Qaeda! GOD please understand this! Not even Republicans believe it any more. We are NO more safer today.

There were no WMD's. There was one asshole running Iraq...but now we have cultivated a whole culture of terrorists in Iraq hell bent on kicking our asses. And we have over 1000 dead Americans (oh, and a question, how many funerals has Bush gone to? NONE. Disgusting).

Whoever posted that previos post PLEASE tell me how we are safer. Tell me how going into Iraq has "protected" us.

You can't. Back it up or shut the hell up. There's more out there than Fox TV, Coutler and Hannity.

I would just like to add that the last comment had NOTHING what so ever to do with the topic at hand. But I am open to people writing about what they feel, so feel free to do so.

Never the less, killing by any, is WRONG. It doesn't matter how you do it. It is wrong.

Actually Di, that last comment was directly related to the comment before. That was the one who got off track.

In response to Ed's comment:

I think that someone who is unwilling to hear other people's opinion should never quote the Holy Bible. Yes, the Bible that everyone has also states that "Thou Shall Not Kill" as one of the Ten Commandments. The fact that you quoted it from the Hebrew version is irrelevant. When John Kerry quoted John 3:16 and made a mistake by switching the numbers (John 16:3), that was just a mistake. I don't see that as a reason to criticize him. All of us could make that mistake. There have been Priests and Pastors that make the same types of mistakes.
Abortion rights are what everyone argues about. They usually don't argue if abortion is actually killing. It is a fact that when you have an abortion, you are terminating your pregnancy (killing your unborn child). The problem is some people feel like you should not have the choice to do that.
For example, I do not believe in abortion. However, I support abortion rights. Simply because I have no right to tell a woman what to do with her own body. I believe that the government should not have that right either. Kerry is Catholic and he supports abortion rights. That does not make him a bad Catholic. Who are we to judge him for that? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Does that not apply to Kerry as well?
War = Killing
That is a fact. People that say they support the war obviously support killing. Regardless of why people support it, it is still killing other human beings. I don't have to be a Democrat or a Republican to see that. Why is that so hard for people to accept?
The topic at hand is if Abortion = Killing and War = Killing. What is the difference? Well, most people would say that the unborn child doesn't have a choice like the soldiers do. Isn't it ironic that the same people that give this answer say that choice is important. Yet, they believe that no one should have the choice to get an abortion. Who are we to justify one killing over the next? Who are we to eliminate another person's right to choose?
